Travel advice for H1N1 Virus

On 11 June 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the alert level for the H1N1 virus (known as 'swine flu') to phase 6. The Environmental Health Conference 2011 is continuing to monitor the situation carefully.

The WHO states that it does not recommend a restriction on travel and the 2011 Environmental Health Conference will go ahead as planned in Salvador, Brazil, 6-9 February 2011.

The WHO gives some advice on recommended guidelines for travellers. We recommend that all participants have appropriate health insurance policies in place when travelling.
